Dear Brother

On this day, dear brother,  Let's try not to fight, Oh, who am I kidding? Our bickering is our birthright! But without any fights today, Let's celebrate the bond we share, Even though I know that, Sometimes you don't even play fair! You have given me many gifts, Even the promises that are left are few, But make one more promise to me, It's something different, something new. You have always been my saviour. And I know you always will be, But from now on I want you, To protect every woman you see. And then one day, No woman will fear the unknown, No girl will be harmed, No sister will be alone. There are proud men of our country, Every day on the border, they make a sacrifice. And here in the country, my brother, Good men like you will suffice.  Now with that good promise, Let's move on to the gifts, Wait, did you really think, That I never made a list?

A Letter from a Father to his Daughter

I used to bounce you on my knees, Now you drive me around the city. You, my little girl, have grown up so much, Oh, isn't that just a pity! Your little feet entered my world, It is then I learned to make pigtails. I had a lot of tea parties since then, And I only got better on painting nails. Now you brush your own hair, And you don’t need your dad to pay your bills. I never wondered how much time has passed, Until I realized you’ve outgrown your cute, little frills. I might not be able to lift you up anymore, But my arms are still strong enough to wrap around you. Know that your father is always there to chase away your troubles, It has always been and it will always be true.

A Letter from a Mother to her Son

You can be two or twenty, But you'll be always my little boy. Know that your mother knows everything, No matter how much you act coy. You were so little when you entered this world, And now you've even outgrown me, Where once I used to cradle you in my arms, Now it's you who holds me. Now you lift the world in your arms, Now you share all the burdens with me, With you by my side, I feel like there's no lock, To which I can't find the key. But there comes a time when it feels too much, When you feel like lost in a sea, Remember your mother is always there for you, I've always been and I always will be.
