I Asked The Moon

I asked the moon – Don’t you get lonely at night?
He said – I have my stars with me, it’s the sun who feels aloof as he drowns in his own light.

I asked the moon – Why don’t you like the sun and its cosmic sight?
He said – The sun is dear to me but it just wasn’t in our destiny to unite.

I asked the moon – How come you are so beautiful, even more than the stars?
He said – You saw my beauty, but have you seen my scars?

I asked the moon – Why can’t you see your beauty the way I do?
He said – You also see the water but the water ain’t blue.

I asked the moon – Don’t you feel grateful to live so up in the sky?
He said – Things are not that happy here, I wonder though why.

I asked the moon – Why can’t you just stay joyful with all your ethereal glory?
He said – It’s not just about me, it’s every man’s story.

I asked the moon – What has a man to do with it?
He said – A man is never content since he always longs for more than his bit.

I asked the moon – So how do you think a man should act?
He said – That’s a man’s job to learn and simply accept the fact.

I asked the moon – Why can’t you just give me an answer, as simple as I yearn?
He said – Because the course to all the answers is full of twists and turns.

I asked the moon – But why is this path of life so full of burns and flare?
He said – Because my dear, it is life and life is not fair.
